The head of Calhoun County’s YMCA on Friday said the nonprofit group’s location in Oxford will move, changing its hours and some of the services it offers starting March 1.

He was recently named the recipient of the Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama’s Juliette P. Doster Award for Outstanding Volunteerism in Community Health.
READ ARTICLEDemetrius Hardy is the director of sports and aquatics at the YMCA of Calhoun County. He has always had a passion for sports — basketball, in particular. “I have played basketball since I was 8, and I have coached since 2009 or 2010,” he said. He has also coached baseball and football, and recently became certified as a lifeguard.
